This is a collection of portraits of the Warao people living in the Orinoco Delta. These are some of the most authentic indigenous people I've ever visited in my travels.
This place is full of children and I must say that the children here were one of the highlights of the trip. The large number of children is due to the large families and high mortality rate of the children especially the males who can be afflicted by a deadly disease.
A typical hut. Everything is self contained in a single room from the wash/dry room to the kitchen, bed room (or rather hammock room) and storage room for the coke bottles.
