This is a collection of portraits of the Warao people living in the Orinoco Delta. These are some of the most authentic indigenous people I've ever visited in my travels.
This place is full of children and I must say that the children here were one of the highlights of the trip. The large number of children is due to the large families and high mortality rate of the children especially the males who can be afflicted by a deadly disease.
Child selling bead necklaces and bracelets. These are made from seeds gathered from the ground and tied together with a string. The big seed in the centre of the necklace is a symbol of good luck.
