Mike > A closed blue morpho butterfly. The eye like patterns on the wings help to distract birds from the main body of the butterfly so even though part of the wings are destroyed the butterfly can still live and fly.

Mike > The eye shaped pattern the wing worked well to distract the bird from the body. This morpho has the lower part of the wings chipped off, probably by a bird attack.

Mike > A fluttering butterfly. You can see the bright blue colour of one of the most beautiful butterflies I've ever seen.

Mike > The morpho is having dinner. You can see the proboscis used to suck on the rotting fruit.
